Having read over some of the comments and ratings on this average size paper shredder, I haven’t encountered the problems others have. The shredder activates easily once paper is introduced and I’ve not had a problem having to adjust how the paper was introduced to the activation mechanism. It’s the perfect size for my small home office and the right color (black). You know those pesky credit card offers that come to you through the mail all the time? Don’t even bother opening them. They’re not too thick for the shredding capacity and it’ll save you time by only having to introduce one piece instead of multiples if you cut open the envelope. Credit cards whip through it without hesitation. And the basket size is just right (I empty mine about every 10 days now). Reliable. Great price. Perfect size. Works flawlessly. What’s not to like?
This is the first shredder that has not broke or jammed up on me within 2 weeks of purchase. Shred per instructions and this will do the job. It holds a lot more than it looks too. Easy lightweight basket to empty. Not as loud as previous ones I have owned. I am very happy with my purchase. I compared prices before purchasing too.

This is a great little machine. It’s fairly quiet and shreds credit cards with ease. It’s solid and sturdy and my husband, who didn’t think we needed one, uses it often.

Don’t give up!

New out of the box, the shredder failed to cross cut paper, even if fed a sheet at a time. The cutters/blades didn’t produce a “clean” shred like all other shredders I have worked…

Works well
This 8-paper small shredder seems to slow down slightly with more than 6 pieces of regular paper and it is NOISY. But it works and so far has not jammed.

Broke after 2 months of very light usage!
The shredder worked just fine for 2 months, with very light usage. All we shred is the junk mail we get.

Aurora AS890C 8-Sheet Shredder
This works well, but it doesn’t handle 8 sheets. After four, the performance slows considerably. Since the shredder is for personal use, we find it quite satisfactory.
